Odontoglossum

Odontoglossum

Sort of Odontoglossum is well known to everyone who is interested in orchids. There are about 250 kinds. Meeting mainly at height more than 1500 m above sea level on the slopes of tropical mountain areas covered with woods from Mexico to the north of the South America .

Already only that at different kinds the flowering period is necessary on a different season, testifies to distinctions in care of plants. To it it’s necessary to add that some kinds demand “the opposite” maintenance: in the summer they prefer a cool and very high humidity of air, and in the winter warmer and dry maintenance. For this reason at purchase of each new plant is necessary to demand the recommendation about care of it.

Excessive humidity at low temperature of air can cause occurrence of stains on leaves and their rotting.
