Family of pink flowered. The Latin name has received from “Armenia” as which earlier wrongly considered as the apricot native land. Contains 8 kinds growing in East, Central, Average and Asia Minor, on caucasus.

These are small trees of 5-12 m in height or large bushes with a wide crone and deep root system. Leaves simple, to 12 sm, oval. The flowers are correct, large, white-pink, with a pleasant smell. Fruits are of yellow or orange color.
